Meet your guide in Feriolo for a briefing before setting off along the western shore of Lake Maggiore and into the Toce valley. Follow quieter roads and cycle paths towards Candoglia, home to the historic marble quarries that supplied the stone used to build Milan Cathedral — a fascinating link between this peaceful valley and one of Italy’s most iconic landmarks.
Continue towards Lake Mergozzo, renowned for its exceptionally clear waters and often celebrated among Italy’s cleanest lakes. Framed by the Alpine foothills, this peaceful setting offers the perfect opportunity to slow down and, when conditions allow, enjoy a refreshing swim in its pristine waters.
Ride back through the Fondotoce Nature Reserve, surrounded by greenery and the tranquillity of this protected natural landscape.
